What is the difference between Child Fatality Review (CFR) Panel and Chaild Fatality Review (CFR) Committee?

CFR Committees are county level committees.  Each of Georgia's 159 counties has a CFR committee.  Counties can also opt for a circuit-wide committee if desired.

The CFR Panel is a State Panel comprised of members appointed by the Governor and heads of designated state agencies.  The CFR Panel oversees work of the Child Fatality Division of the Office of the Child Advocate.  The division carries out the administrative duties of the Panel.  The CFR Panel is available to the county level CFR committees whenever needed.  The chief purpose of the Panel is prevention.
